Hand Crafted Brews

As a microbrewery, Cajun Brewing focuses on making a few types of beers in fairly small quantities for fresh and flavorful brews. Unlike other microbreweries that create craft beers that are often overpowering or have peculiar flavors, our beers are designed to be more approachable. Light, refreshing, never too heavy, and always great-tasting are the key descriptors defining our beers.

Our brewery was founded on three superb beers- Cajun Wit, Bayou Brunette and Freetown. You can find Wit and Freetown in local restaurants and bars. And we now offer both in bottles, which you will find in local stores as well. We now have a Tap Room with 15 rotating taps.

Our team is always experimenting with new beers, and hope to add several new brews to our line-up. We invite you to find our beer at a location near you and enjoy the wonderfully unique taste of our Cajun brews.

Cajun Wit

A refreshing wheat based ale with citrus and coriander aromatics. Unfiltered, it has a mildly sweet orange fruitiness with a medium-light body and a dry finish.
ABV: 5.2% IBU 9

National Food Pairings

Pair our Cajun Wit with light seafood like mussels, crab, shrimp, clams, and lobster, especially good with a spritz of lemon added to the plate. Other great pairings include:

  • Fish cakes
  • Smoked salmon
  • Sushi
  • Fried fish like fish and chips, calamari, or whitebait
  • Seafood pastas and noodles like crab linguine with chilli and coriander or pad thai
  • Seafood and light vegetable risottos
  • Spring vegetables like peas, beans, and asparagus
  • Young goat cheese, sheep cheese, and feta
  • Greek salad and Ceasar salad
  • Thai green curies

Cajun Food Pairings

  • Gumbo - especially when made with shrimp and crab or chicken and sausage
  • Seafood fettuccine
  • Raw oysters

Bayou Brunette

A rich, dark brown appearance with a frothy off-white head. Malty aroma with a hint of hop spiciness. Is big in malt flavor, slight caramel and chocolate notes, with just enough hop bitterness to balance out the sweetness. Medium-full bodied and a smooth finish.
ABV: 6.2% IBU 34

  • Beef stew
  • grilled and roast beef
  • pork
  • sausage

Freetown

Freetown is a crisp, clean, malty, golden lager, with a touch of sweetness, and a soft hint of subtle, spicy, floral hops in the background. A restrained bitterness helps keep the balance malty but not sweet, making this a smooth and refreshing beer. Named after a historic neighborhood in our hometown of Lafayette, La.
